1919: Agnes Meyer Driscoll was discharged from the US Navy & in 1959, retired from NSA.

31 July 1919 - Agnes Meyer Driscoll discharged from the US Navy and began work in the same department as a civilian Navy employee. Driscoll was a pioneer cryptologist and a Navy code breaker who solved codes and broke Japanese naval systems. One Navy admiral described her as "without peer as a cryptanalyst."

Driscoll eventually went on to work with AFSA and then NSA. Her inspirational career included developing new cipher machines and encouraging the use of tabulating machines for cryptanalysis.

On 31 July 1959, she retired from NSA.

She was inducted into the NSA/CSS Cryptologic Hall of Honor in 2000.
