1960: Howard Engstrom - Exceptional Service

1960: Howard Engstrom received the Exceptional Civilian Service Award. Engstrom served as Deputy Director of the NSA from 1957-1958. He was a technical leader in the Navy’s cryptologic work in World War II and continued his participation in many roles after the war. He was also awarded the Order of the British Empire. Along with William Norris and others he founded Engineering Research Associates in 1946. He was also one of the co-creators of the Univac computer.
