2016: The NSA Hawaii (NSAH) facility was dedicated as the Washington Wong Building.

Washington Wong, who was born in Hawaii to a Chinese father and a Japanese mother, grew up speaking both Chinese and Japanese fluently. After the Korean War, Mr. Wong joined NSA and served as a language expert specializing in the collection of information against China. He became well-known for his mentorship of linguists. He made time for every individual who needed help. Mr. Wong served as the Interpreter of Record for four decades in Chinese and Japanese for the Director of NSA. He was inducted into the NSA/CSS Cryptologic Hall of Honor in 2013.
