On May 3, 2025, the National Cryptologic Foundation (NCF), in proud partnership with the Technology Advancement Center (TAC), hosted our Fourth Cyber Saturday—and what a day it was!

With over 100 students and parents in attendance, the energy in the room was electric. From the moment the doors opened, participants dove into a day packed with hands-on cybersecurity activities, immersive workshops, and powerful inspiration. Cyber Saturday continues to serve as a launchpad for students to explore pathways into cybersecurity, digital literacy, and critical thinking—and this year did not disappoint.

A Morning of Empowerment

The day began with a warm and spirited welcome from Dr. Alisha Jordan, Director of Education at NCF, who energized the crowd and set the stage for what would be an unforgettable day. She then introduced Dr. Calvin Nobles, Dean of the School of Cybersecurity at UMGC, NCF BoD Member & Chair of the NCF Education Committee. Dr. Nobles delivered an engaging and thought-provoking talk, encouraging students to be resilient, stay ready, and lead with purpose in today’s fast-paced digital world.

Following his inspiring words, Siraaj Hasan, VP at Booz Allen Hamilton and a national security & cyber subject matter expert, took the stage and delivered a powerful keynote that struck a deep chord with everyone in the room. With authenticity and heart, he reminded students and parents alike that “you are good enough.” His empowering message ignited a spirit of confidence, curiosity, and courage that carried through the rest of the day.

Interactive Learning at Its Best

Participants rotated through engaging sessions covering topics like ethical hacking, password protection, and artificial intelligence in cybersecurity. We offered a special Elite Track for high school students, providing them with more advanced challenges and deeper exposure to real-world cyber applications.

The students’ enthusiasm was contagious—whether coding a robot or cracking a code, they were fully immersed in the experience. Parents also had opportunities to learn how to keep their families safe online, highlighting our commitment to empowering entire communities.

Gratitude for Our Partners and Supporters

This event would not have been possible without the incredible support from our presenting sponsor Booz Allen Hamilton, and our outstanding partners at TAC, especially Gregg Smith (CEO), Alexis Davis, and Amanda Hammond for helping us bring this vision to life.

We’re also deeply thankful to our NCF Board Members Jamil Jaffer and Rand Griffin, who showed their support and belief in the power of education to drive change in the cyber field.

Looking Ahead

Cyber Saturday is more than an event—it’s a movement. As we continue to grow, so does our mission to build a stronger, more cyber-aware future for all learners. Whether you’re a student just discovering cybersecurity or a parent looking to support your child’s digital journey, we’re here to connect, educate, and inspire.

Thank you again to everyone who made this day such a resounding success. We can’t wait to see you at our next Cyber Saturday!

Stay curious. Stay safe. Stay connected.
