Robin Burns

Robin Burns is beginning her 17th year teaching and 9th year in cybersecurity and networking. She holds a B.A. in Physical Education from Salisbury University, an M.Ed. in Special Education and Administration from Wilmington University, and two graduate certificates: Cybersecurity Technology from the University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) and Cybersecurity Education from DePaul University through the National Cybersecurity Teacher Academy (NCTA). In 2025, she earned an M.S. in Cybersecurity Technology from UMGC.

She holds multiple industry-recognized certifications, including Cisco’s CCT in Routing and Switching, CCST Networking, CCST Cybersecurity, and CCST IT Support, as well as ISC2’s Certified in Cybersecurity (CC). In addition to her classroom work, she has presented at numerous local, regional, and national conferences, sharing best practices in cybersecurity education and Career and Technical Education (CTE).

A recognized leader in CTE, she was named the 2025 MCTA CTE Teacher of the Year by the Maryland Affiliate of ACTE and was also honored as the 2020 Teach Cyber Teacher of the Year. Her work reflects a deep commitment to preparing the next generation of students with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in the digital age.
