About the Active Aces
The Active Aces are a vibrant community of seniors who meet weekly at the Watkins Tennis Bubble in Upper Marlboro (301 Watkins Park Drive) to enjoy friendly doubles matches or the faster- paced excitement of singles play. More than just a tennis group, the Active Aces bring together adults who value movement, connection, and lifelong learning.
November 3, 2025 Session
On November 3rd, 2025, the Active Aces paused the rackets and welcomed Dr. Alisha Jordan for an engaging session on Cyber Literacy and Online Safety for Adults. The discussion focused on practical digital skills and real-world protections including:
- Creating strong, memorable passwords
- Identifying AI-generated scams and fraudulent messages
- Safeguarding personal data when shopping or browsing online
- Understanding digital footprints and privacy
- Staying confident and informed while using technology
The conversation was highly interactive, filled with questions, stories, and reflections from members who are learning to stay safe in a rapidly changing online world.
A special thank you to Dr. Loyce Pailen of UMGC for coordinating this session and supporting digital education for older adults. The Active Aces continue to prove that staying active isn’t just about the body — it’s about the mind, too.
