Charles "Chuck" J. Zeman
The NCF remembers long-time member and Benefactor donor Chuck Zeman. Obituary to follow:
Charles “Chuck” Zeman, 92, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2025, in Naples, Florida. Born on June 30, 1932, in Chicago, Illinois, Chuck lived a life filled with love, service, and an appreciation for life’s simple pleasures.
Chuck spent most of his adult years in Maryland, where he built a distinguished 40+ year career with the Department of Defense in Washington, D.C. He was a former member of the Phoenix Society. Near the end of his professional journey, he and his wife, Christa, embraced the Florida sunshine, spending winters as snowbirds before making Bonita Springs and later Naples their permanent home in retirement.
Chuck found joy in his family and his favorite pastimes, including racquetball, fishing trips to Wollaston Lake, golfing, and relaxing in his hammock with a cold beer, watching the sunset. He also loved dining out with friends and savoring good food, a true connoisseur of life’s small indulgences.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Christa Zeman; his daughter, Karen Koshi; son-in-law, Tom Koshi; and his cherished grandchildren, Brendan and Evan. Chuck’s family was his pride and joy, and he leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion.
In retirement, Chuck continued to serve others. He volunteered at the National Cryptologic Museum, sharing his expertise and passion for history, and mentored at-risk high school students through Florida’s nonprofit Take Stock in Children, touching countless young lives with his guidance and support.
Chuck’s warmth, humor, and kind-hearted nature will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His family finds comfort in the memories of his laughter, generosity, and unwavering love.
