Staff members, led by Laura Nelson, President & CEO, went to the Maryland General Assembly's Lowe House Office Building on February 12 for NCMF's Advocacy Day. Over 50 state legislators (or their staff members) attended a reception sponsored by NCMF to garner support for a Capital Bond Bill to support construction of the Cyber Center for Education and Innovation (CCEI) - Home of the National Cryptologic Museum (NCM).

NCMF staff members provided convincing presentations to raise awareness and educate delegates and senators, attending the reception, to support the Foundation's request for a $500K bond bill to build the CCEI-NCM facility.

The photos in the gallery below offer a thumbnail sketch of the legislators who learned about the CCEI/NCM, including sponsors Delegate Michael Chang and Senator Pamela Beidle. Over the last seven years, the Foundation has received $ 4.75M in matching grant funding from the State of Maryland; $ 2.3M of this has been obligated and used to fund the project's design effort which has been completed.

If approved by the General Assembly's Senate and House Capital Budget Subcommittees, the Bond Bill will be voted on by the full legislature by the end of this current legislative session in April.
