National Cryptologic Museum Foundation Receives Undisclosed Donation
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
MILLERSVILLE, MD (November 13, 2020) - The National Cryptologic Museum Foundation (NCMF) announced a generous donation from Stuart Wagner and family, and the Donald and Esther Simon Foundation to the Capital Campaign to the campaign to build the Cyber Center for Education and Innovation (CCEI) Home of the National Cryptologic Museum (NCM). Stuart is a Senior Data Scientist and Engineering Manager at the Department of Defense. The Donald R. and Esther Simon Foundation supports social justice issues which make a positive impact in the lives of this generation and the next.
"We are grateful to the Wagner Family & the Simon Foundation for their support of our Capital Campaign," said Laura Nelson, President, and CEO, NCMF. More than four years ago, the NCMF and the National Security Agency (NSA) began a public-private partnership to build the CCEI. The new state-of-the-art facility is slated for groundbreaking sometime in November or early December 2020 (note this was postponed). The new facility is proposed at 74,200 sq ft. It will include a conference center, multi-purpose classrooms, one public and one rare books library, and will serve as a venue for government and public ceremonies and events. The new museum will be double the current museum's size and will be located directly behind the existing museum and adjacent to NSA in Ft. Meade, MD.
"I made this gift when considering future challenges for our nation and my daughter. Recognizing the growth of electronic disinformation, targeted election interference, and offensive cyber against both the United States and its democratic allies, educating our youth in STEM and software remains the critical national security priority." said Stuart Wagner. "Through this gift, we hope to inspire our future workforce to invent, engineer, and repurpose capabilities in areas such as cryptography, cyber, statistics, math, and science to protect our nation and its interests."

Located adjacent to the National Security Agency (NSA) in Maryland, the NCM houses a priceless collection of artifacts that represent our Nation's history in code-making and code-breaking, as well as a world-class library of cryptologic media. The NCMF acquires the best artifacts for the NCM and supports new educational and interactive exhibits. The NCMF provides exceptional cryptologic programs throughout the year, encourages young minds to explore cryptology and innovation through valued awards, and hosts educational, cryptology-related exhibits at various community events.
As part of the Foundation's public-partnership with NSA to build the Cyber Center for Education and Innovation - Home of the National Cryptologic Museum (CCEI-NCM), the NCMF serves as a leader in the field of cybersecurity - striving to provide the best in educational resources and programs, including the development of the High School Cybersecurity Curriculum Guidelines, hosting Cybersecurity Chats, and scheduling virtual museum tours with our telepresence robot, Friedman.
