Former DOD Undersecretary the Honorable Ronald Moultrie appointed to the National Cryptologic Foundation Board of Directors

Glen Burnie, MD – April 18, 2025 – The National Cryptologic Foundation (NCF) has appointed former Department of Defense Undersecretary for Intelligence & Security the Honorable Ronald Moultrie to its Board of Directors. He began his three-year term on March 7, 2025.

Ronald Moultrie brings an impressive 30 years of experience from high-level roles in the Department of Defense (DOD) and the national intelligence community. Mr. Moultrie is the President and Owner of Ron Moultrie Consulting, LLC, where he continues to drive impactful advancements in the intelligence community. His recent involvement with the President’s Intelligence Advisory Board (PIAB) and the President’s Oversight Board (IOB) highlights his steadfast dedication to enhancing national security.

During his impactful time as the Undersecretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security, Mr. Moultrie was a key advisor to the Secretary of Defense, overseeing an impressive portfolio that exceeded $30 billion and leading a committed team of 225,000 personnel worldwide. He made significant strides in tackling critical challenges such as national security, artificial intelligence, quantum computing, cybersecurity, and other cutting-edge technologies, providing vital insights to both the President and Secretary of Defense.

Moreover, Mr. Moultrie’s career includes roles at the National Security Agency (NSA), the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), and the Department of the Navy, alongside his contributions as a board member for various corporations.

An alumnus of the University of Maryland, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree, Mr. Moultrie holds a Master of Science degree from the National Intelligence University, is a trained graduate of the Defense Language Institute, and completed an executive program at Harvard University. His reputation as a decorated leader and military veteran is well-deserved and widely respected.
