The 2019 Armed Forces & National Police Celebration!

As always, the annual Armed Forces & National Police Celebration held at the National Cryptologic Museum was a fantastic event - jam-packed with fun, educational, and enjoyable activities for everyone in the family to enjoy. The 2019 event was held on Saturday, May 18th from 10 am to 3 pm. This year, both the USMC Silent Drill Platoon and the Color Guard gave memorable and moving performances. Everyone also enjoyed performances by the U.S. Army Band "Downrange" and the Lyric Response Team.

Military and police dog demonstrations are always a favorite at the annual celebration. From vintage vehicles to tactical demonstrations and opportunities to try on gear - the list of activities is unique. Download the full schedule of activities and exhibitors.

In addition to enjoying all the demonstrations, hands-on activities, performances, and free goodies, people seemed to especially enjoy having their caricature done in their favorite military or police uniform.

"Take a Selfie in a Russian Coast Guard Hat" at the NCMF Table

This year the NCMF booth included a popular "Take a Selfie in a Russian Coast Guard Hat" display. The kids were adorable, and we were honored to visit with a WWII Vet who also served in the Korean War. (See photos below.) Approximately 1300 people attended, and at least 400 kids took away the NCMF cipher wheel string bags and also received free snow-cones sponsored by the Foundation for collecting all the organizational seals in the "Seek The Seals" hunt.

In addition to being honored to personally thank many veterans who attended the event, we were thrilled to see so many inspired young folks enjoying the festivities, demonstrations, and hands-on activities.

Many thanks to all who came out to celebrate! And a special thank you to all Foundation staff and volunteers who helped man the tables, prepare for the event, take photos, and more.
