NCM Honored with 2014 Museum Oskars

Museum 140 recently hosted the 2014 Museum Oskars, collecting nominations from individuals who had positive museum experiences in 2013. There were 12 categories and we are pleased to announce that the National Cryptologic Museum received honors in the categories of "Friendliest Staff Experience" and Best "Hidden Gem." Museums from all around the world were honored with nominations and everyone nominated was considered a winner!

Here is what was submitted about the NCM for the Friendliest Staff Experience:

"National Cryptologic Museum, Fort Meade, Maryland – in preparing for my visit, I coordinated the dates with the Librarian. Upon my arrival, I found she had graciously pulled the materials already and provided a work area for my research. She and another staff member answered my many questions, assisted with copying/scanning of key papers, ensuring I saved some time to actually tour the museum."

And for Best Hidden Gem:

"National Cryptologic Museum, Fort Mead, Maryland – this totally FREE museum features ‘hands-on’ use of a genuine World War II-era Enigma machine, and a fascinating display on ‘Hobo signs and symbols’."

Congratulations to ALL the winners, thanks to Museum 140 for hosting these "Oskars,"
