1957: Dr. James Killian Submits Influential Report on Defense and Intelligence

24 October 1957: Dr James Killian submitted an influential report on defense and intelligence to the president of the U.S. with recommendations on how NSA could remain productive in COMINT. Dr. Killian was the first presidential science advisor and oversaw the creation of the Presidential Scientific Advisory Committee.
