2015 Museum Oskars

The Museum Oskars is an annual online event hosted by Museum140.com. The event encourages people to vote in 12 categories based upon their favorite museum experiences from the previous year.

The Museum Oskars celebrate the museum experience, raise awareness for museums, and honor nominated museums as "winners!"

Museum140.com also sponsors an Adopt-A-Museum project. We hope you will consider visiting their site and adopting the National Cryptologic Museum!

Below is the comment submitted about the NCM for the Friendliest Staff Experience:

"National Cryptologic Museum, Fort Meade, Maryland – in preparing for my visit, I coordinated the dates with the Librarian. Upon my arrival, I found she had graciously pulled the materials already and provided a work area for my research. She and another staff member answered my many questions, assisted with copying/scanning of key papers, ensuring I saved some time to actually tour the museum."

And for Best Hidden Gem:

"National Cryptologic Museum, Fort Meade, Maryland – this totally FREE museum features ‘hands-on’ use of a genuine World War II-era Enigma machine, and a fascinating display on ‘Hobo signs and symbols’."
