NCF Director of Finance
Job Type: Part Time (40 hours per month)
Salary: $60 per hour
Job Description
The National Cryptologic Foundation (NCF), a 501(3)(c) not for profit organization is seeking an individual to fill the role of Director of Finance. The NCF advances the nation’s interest in cyber and cryptology through leadership, education, and partnerships. The Foundation is a small organization with a large vision and mission. The main responsibilities of the Director of Finance are to ensure the accurate and timely recording of revenue and expenses to the General Ledger and to ensure Federal and State regulations are in place for the NCF to function as a not-for-profit in Maryland.
The Main Responsibilities include:
- Management of billing, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments to vendors, suppliers, creditors, and other parties involved in business transactions. Update donor database where appropriate.
- Coordinate with outsourced third-party accounting firm to ensure proper and timely recording of transactions.
- Assist in the preparation of Board of Director quarterly reporting.
- Management of travel program.
- Develop strong relationships with team members; resolving issues equitably with compassion and caring.
- Ensure accurate account coding of all transactions, identify, and correct discrepancies, and complete revision.
- Assist in the analysis of financial data to inform the forecast of future revenues and expenses.
- Works closely with President and CEO, and other Directors to stay abreast of financial needs and aware of budgetary requirements.
- Develop strategic budgets.
- Prepare/provide documentation to support an annual audit.
- Onboard new employees and 1099 contractors, and vendors regarding financial policies and processes.
- Ensure proper documentation to inform accurate tax withholding and reporting.
- Assist in the analysis of financial data to inform the forecast of future revenues.
- Complete all Federal and State regulations to include (Good Standing, Charity, Sales and tax use, Tax exempt status, SAMS registration, etc).
- Review account reconciliations accounts monthly.
- Work with outside auditors as needed.
- Collect timesheets monthly and work with payroll company for distribution of funds.
- Remote work is accommodated with a minimum of two days per week at NCF Office, 808 Landmark Drive, Suite 223, Glen Burnie, MD.
- Maximum of 40 hours per month.
Skills:
- Bachelors’ degree in accounting or similar area of study.
- Experience in accounts receivable, accounts payable and general ledger.
- Experience with accounting software packages, like QuickBooks Online required.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Organized and detail-oriented with a passion for accuracy.
- Likes working with numbers.
- Collaborative disposition with experience working in a team environment.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office and proficient in Excel. Knowledge of CRM software (Bloomerang, Salesforce, etc) preferred.
