Overview
Convening to Act is the Foundation’s top forum for advancing cyber collaboration. These unique programs unite leaders from government, industry, and academia to tackle emerging cybersecurity challenges and strengthen national resilience. Sessions highlight key issues and foster actionable dialogue on topics like workforce gaps, policy, AI, and evolving threats.
From Quantum-Resistant Cryptography to Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Education, and Computer Network Operations, these topics capture the most pressing cyber challenges of our time—and these essential discussions are just the start. Convening to Act remains agile, so the Foundation can continually address new issues as technology and threats evolve.
Learn about each of the different types of Convenings below and see links to event recaps at the end of this page.
Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Artificial Intelligence is transforming the ways we defend, analyze, and safeguard digital systems. These NCF AI-focused sessions explore both the opportunities and challenges of AI in national security, addressing critical topics such as governance, ethics, compliance, and mission integration. By uniting experts from government, academia, and industry, Convening to Act promotes consensus on the responsible development and deployment of AI within the national defense ecosystem. See below for event recaps.
Quantum-Resistant Cryptography (QRC)
As quantum computing progresses, current encryption standards will eventually become insufficient for protecting vital information. The NCF QRC gatherings bring together specialists to help speed the transition to quantum-safe systems nationwide.
By leveraging shared frameworks, practical demonstrations, and real-world case studies, participants examine crypto agility, address implementation challenges, and develop strategies to ensure readiness for organizations of all sizes. See below for event recaps.
Summit on Cybersecurity Education
The NCF Summit on Cybersecurity Education is a one-of-a-kind event focused on advancing cybersecurity education across K–12 schools. Designed for educators, parents, and cybersecurity professionals, the summit offers a platform for learning, collaboration, and networking—helping stakeholders share ideas, form partnerships, and inspire action to prepare the next generation for a secure digital future.
It is our desire that attendees will gain insights into best practices for integrating cybersecurity into K-12 curricula, as well as how to foster a secure digital environment for students. We also strive to share strategies to engage students in cybersecurity career pathways and help parents and educators with their role of supporting cybersecurity education. See below for event recaps.
XFIL - CNO
XFIL – The Computer Network Operations (CNO) Conference gathers leaders and specialists to discuss advancements in building strong and secure CNO capabilities. Attendees gain valuable insights into the changing landscape of cyber operations, including the use of computers and networks for defense, exploitation, and attack. Major topics include software tool development, maintenance, debugging, and the challenges of reverse engineering for mission success. See below for event recaps.
