Dr. Barry A. Humphrey is the Program Manager for the Defense Logistics Agency’s Research and Development. His program, the Logistics Technology Research Program, leverages advanced technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Blockchain, Augmented Reality, and Quantum Computing, and Cybersecurity efforts to improve Warfighter support based on DLA strategic guidance for improving key DLA business functions, such as data analytics, database security, supply chain risk management and supply chain security..
Dr. Humphrey is an experienced Information Technology (IT) professional with 20-plus years of experience in IT management and more than 20 years of experience in management and leadership. His exceptional technology skills are combined with his proven ability to drive user- centric solutions, manage and nurture talent, form strategic partnerships, and successfully implement and oversee complex projects.
Dr. Humphrey is a retired Army Officer, commissioned in the U.S. Army as a Field Artillery Officer holding numerous positions with multiple deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and later became an Information Systems Manager, working in systems automation, network security, information security/information assurance, knowledge management, network architecture, and gaming and simulation.
Dr. Humphrey possesses an earned Ph.D. in Information Systems and Communications from Robert Morris University, an M.A. in Information Technology Management, Business and Organizational Security Management from Webster University, and a B.S. in Molecular Biology from Auburn University at Montgomery. Continued advanced education includes completion of Wharton Executive Education’s Leadership Program in AI and Analytics and Wharton Executive Education’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Program. Dr. Humphrey is co-founder and director of learning experiences and educational technology for the non-profit organization Ready Force Cyber. The organization aims to provide cybersecurity training, hands-on skill development, and career navigation for those seeking to enter the fields of information technology and cybersecurity.
