Crypto Cup

4th - 11th Annual "Tim Sheahan Memorial" Eagle Alliance-Hosted Crypto Cup Golf Tournament (2005 - 2012)

June 29, 2012
This page features primarily photos from the 2005 - 2012 tournaments, as well as the post-tournament luncheon and ceremony the Foundation hosted at the National Cryptologic Museum to thank the amazing tournament volunteers and to recognize winners. The annual tournament typically raised between $30-40,000 with sponsor companies such as SCI, FedData, CyberCore, Tech USA, Cisco, NetApp, and more participating each year. The Foundation is deeply grateful to Eagle Alliance - now GDIT for their incredible support.

Information about the earliest Crypto Cup tournaments is limited. Thankfully, we have some data and a selection of photos - many taken by Foundation volunteer John Garcia. See some historical data below for early tournaments.

For many years, the Foundation hosted a post-tournament Awards and Volunteer Appreciation luncheon at the National Cryptologic Museum. You will see photos from these events in the various galleries. Some years have extensive photos which flow over into Shutterfly albums.

The Foundation is deeply grateful to Eagle Alliance (now GDIT) for hosting these incredibly fun and vital fundraisers for the Foundation. Each tournament has typically raised $30-40,000 in support of the Foundation's mission. We are also very grateful to the generous sponsor companies - many that have been participating since the start. Companies such as SCI, FedData, CyberCore, Cisco, TechUSA and more. We look forward each year to this special opportunity to network and relax with members of our amazing community!

Background

In June 2002 Eagle Alliance sponsored its first golf tournament to benefit the Foundation (then the NCMF). The annual tournament was dedicated to the memory of Tim Sheahan, Eagle Alliance's first Account Executive and a key contributor to the award and success of the GROUNDBREAKER Program. Without the annual contribution from this tournament, there are years when the Foundation would have found it challenging to meet its obligations regarding support to the National Cryptologic Museum (NCM).

Starting in 2025, the tournament is hosted by General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT).
