Rand’s work experience includes 39 years of proven experience in the creation ofreal estate value through direct responsibilities in management, development, acquisitions, marketing and finance. Rand is particularly adept at building strong management teams, creating enduring strategic plans, conceiving large development opportunities and producing consistently strong financia! results.
Prior to joining Constellation Real Estate Group, he directed development far more than $5 billion ofreal estate assets, representing more than 12 million square feet of office, retail and industrialjdesign build space, 5,600 hotel rooms and more than 4,000 housing units. He has also been responsible far over $2 billion of acquisitions, including land, retail, office and industrial buildings.
From 1990-1993, Rand was Vice President of Development far EuroDisney Development in Paris, France, where he managed and directed ali non-theme park development far the 5,000-acre project. Phase I entailed the construction of nine separate projects totaling $1.5 billion of construction-including 5,200 hotel rooms, a 200,000 square faot entertainment complex, a 600 unit campground and village, a 27-hole golf course and various residential and support projects. Phase II included $1.2 billion of development He was also responsible far ali Disney Company real estate in 42 locations throughout Europe.
Rand was farmerly Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer of the Linclay Corporation, a real estate firm active in urban and suburban commercial office, retail and industrial development, asset management and investment. From 1976-1990, he was responsible far the development of 66+ projects, and the acquisition and asset management of more than $1 billion in assets.
Rand has served on the Board of Directors of The National Aquarium, the Maryland Business Roundtable far Education, NAREIT, and KEYW Holding company. He was also on the Advisory Board far UMBC. He was Chairman of the award winning Maryland 9/11 Memorial project. He currently serves as Chairman of the Maryland Commission on Public Art and on the Board of the National Cryptologic Foundation.
Rand has received a number of prestigious awards including Ernst & Young 2002 Entrepreneur of the Year, 2009 Daily Record Business Leader of the Year, 2011 Loyola University Business Leader of the Year, NAIOP 2012 Lifetime Achievement Award and numerous other recognitions.
Rand earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Ohio Wesleyan University anda Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Harvard Business School. Rand was a 1 st Lieutenant in the United Sta tes Army and served in Vietnam asan advisor to a Special Forces Vietnamese Unit
