Event Recap
During this joyful afternoon together, we celebrated 30 remarkable years of the National Cryptologic Foundation (formerly the National Cryptologic Museum Foundation)! Together, we enjoyed great company, delicious food, and memorable moments as we honored this important milestone.
During the luncheon we paid special tribute to founder and first Chairman of the Board, Major Gen. John E. Morrison Jr. and were honored to have his daughter and grand-daughter with us. We also recognized our original board members and were grateful to have Mr. Joe Amato – an original board member in attendance. Finally, we expressed our gratitude for all board members, staff, and incredible volunteers – many of whom joined us for this special event.
Our luncheon program included names of previous and current Board Members, volunteers, and staff. The program also included an In Memoriam section to honor members we lost since January 2025. View our Program online (Program page 1 and Program page 2). Attendees enjoyed a slideshow of memories from NCF events held over the past 30 years. Many of the photos from the slideshow can be viewed on our 30th Anniversary page.
After President & CEO Laura Nelson welcomed guests with opening remarks, former Education Director Mark Loepker and current Education Director Dr. Alisha Jordan both spoke about the NCF’s many accomplishments and future goals for the education program.
Our keynote speaker was Mr. Timothy Kosiba, Deputy Director, National Security Agency (NSA), who spoke to the importance of the long-standing partnership between the NSA and the NCF.
Past Board Chairman Dick Schaeffer highlighted the Foundation’s evolution and current Board Chairman George Barnes previewed the Foundation’s path for the future.
George then recognized outgoing President & CEO Laura Nelson with remarks regarding her time with the NCF and presented her with special gifts from the Board. Current staff members then joined George at the podium to thank Laura. After a few parting words from Laura, she introduced the NCF’s new President & CEO Kelli Arena who spoke to the Foundation’s next chapter before closing out the event.
Many thanks to the Gula Tech Adventures and Tower Federal Credit Union for sponsoring our 30th Anniversary Luncheon.
