Dr. Kristine Christensen is a Professor of Computer Information Systems and Director of Faculty Development at Moraine Valley Community College. With over 24 years of teaching experience, she leads national initiatives that strengthen cybersecurity education and workforce development. She serves as Program Director for the NCyTE Community College Cybersecurity Faculty Fellowship, which builds teaching capacity and expands pathways into cybersecurity education, and is the Principal Investigator of the Cybersecurity Career Awareness and Exploration Initiative (ExploreCyber.org), a national effort to equip counselors, advisors, and educators with resources aligned to the NICE Workforce Framework. Dr. Christensen has led multiple cybersecurity bootcamps, educator workshops,
K12 outreach activities, hackathons, and capture-the-flag (CTF) competitions. Her work focuses on preparing future educators and students for the evolving cybersecurity landscape through inclusive, hands-on, and workforce-aligned learning experiences. She several graduate degrees in business, education, and CIS, and is currently pursuing an M.S. in Cybersecurity.
