What We Do
Education is a key goal of our mission and includes not only promoting a greater understanding of the role of cryptology in protecting our nation, but also helping to educate the public about the ever-growing importance of cyber education. As a nationally reputed provider of assured quality cyber education resources focused on K-20 cohorts, our efforts help reduce cyber workforce deficits and current skills shortfalls, thereby promoting cyber professions as a fulfilling career choice. We also provide interesting and valuable cryptologic programs, as well as partner with or promote the work of our sister organizations. In this section you will also find Cryptologic Bytes, the Blog, and Cybersecurity News.
The NCF strives to stimulate interest in the fields of cryptology, cybersecurity, intelligence analysis, mathematics, computers, and other related disciplines. This section includes information about educational tours and activities at the Museum. Plus, learn about the variety of educational activities and exhibits the NCF supports, including the NCF sponsored MD History Day Awards, student outreach, and cryptology game kiosks.
An important part of our mission involves recognizing and honoring significant contributions made in the field of cryptology. Cryptologic pioneers and leaders are honored by the NCF and NSA/NCM in a variety of ways, to include the Cryptologic Hall of Honor, the Museum Entrance Display, the In Memoriam Registry, the Benefactor and Patron Panel, and the In Memoriam Panel. Explore the Commemorate Section to learn more about the honorees, as well as how you can recognize those who have made recent contributions.
