AFIO 2018 Fall Luncheon

Description: Registration is open for the AFIO's Fall 2018 Luncheon (see link below). The theme is Dangers, Challenges, and Joys of the Diplomatic and Intelligence Field of Operations.

The 11am speaker will be Ambassador Prudence Bushnell, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, U.S. Ambassador to Kenya and Guatemala, Dean of the Leadership and Management School at the Foreign Service Institute.

She will speak about her book, Terrorism, Betrayal, and Resilience —My Story of the 1998 U.S. Embassy Bombings

The 1pm speakers will be Gus Russo and Eric Dezenhall who will speak about their book, Best of Enemies: The Last Great Spy Story of the Cold War. Praise for their book from Tom Brokaw..."... how an American CIA agent and a Russian KGB agent wound up on the same side. You have to read it to believe it."

Former KGB Officer Gennady Vasilenko, and Michelle "Mox" Platt, daughter of the late CIA Operations Officer Jack Platt, will be in attendance.
